Big Projects need big money

The Historic Archibald Johnston Mansion is a beautiful shell of a building. Remediation of antiquated building materials must take place to protect future users. Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are also needed to allow for year-round use of the building. And the revived Mansion will be accessible to all, with doorways and entryways usable by people in wheelchairs.

Bethlehem Township Commissioners and the Housenick Foundation Trustees agreed to proceed with the exterior work on the condition that a private organization would raise funds for the interior. That’s where the Archie Project comes in.

In the following months, you’ll see our fundraising efforts kick off. We’ll establish a capital campaign for the lovers of Housenick Park, pursue grant opportunities from foundations and corporations with a presence in the Township and in Pennsylvania, and seek casino and hotel tax revenue distributions (when appropriate) to complete our work.
